Rich Herrera is a veteran broadcaster, journalist, and media strategist with more than three decades of experience in American radio and national media.
He is the host of Richmond’s Morning News on NewsRadio WRVA, one of the most historic radio stations in the United States, where he covers politics, public policy, culture, and the stories shaping Virginia and the nation. Herrera is known for a calm, disciplined delivery and a values-based approach that prioritizes clarity, fairness, and substance over outrage.
Beginning in December 2025, Herrera became a contributor to Newsmax, appearing on the network’s daytime programming to provide political analysis and commentary on current events.
Before moving into news talk, Herrera built a national profile in sports broadcasting, working with major outlets including Fox Sports Radio, SiriusXM, CBS Sports Radio, MLB Network Radio, and the Infinity Sports Network. He has served as a pre- and post-game host for multiple Major League Baseball teams — including the San Francisco Giants, Oakland A’s, Tampa Bay Rays, and San Diego Padres — and has covered Division I college football and basketball.
Herrera is also the executive producer and co-host of The Bret Boone Podcast alongside former Major League Baseball All-Star Bret Boone, where the show blends sports, leadership, media, and current conversations from inside and outside professional athletics.
That background shaped Herrera’s on-air style: prepared, conversational, and comfortable in fast-moving live environments. Over the years, he has also worked behind the scenes in media management, brand strategy, and audience development, helping organizations grow across radio, digital, and live platforms.
As a news host and commentator, Herrera brings a principled conservative perspective rooted in constitutional values, free speech, individual liberty, and civic responsibility. His goal is not to inflame, but to inform — helping listeners understand complex issues without talking down to them or turning the news into theater.
Through Rich4America, Herrera expands the conversation beyond the studio, offering commentary, interviews, and digital content focused on the issues affecting everyday Americans.
