How Rich helped former MLB All-Star Bret Boone start a podcast and made it a success.

In 2020, Rich began working with former MLB All-Star second baseman Bret Boone. Boone wanted to break into sports broadcasting. Rich began coaching Bret and his on-mic work through his podcast. Herrera identified Bret’s core brand traits and began to identify his strengths. They reformated the show to be a conventional podcast with other pro athletes and celebrities. 

The twice-a-week podcast features Bret sitting down with MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL players and coaches. Bret has the ability to draw out the best conversation from fellow athletes, as they have a way of relating to each other as only professional athletes can. Rich works with Bret on research and storylines for each show. They sit down after each episode to review and improve each podcast as the show continues to grow each year.

Beginning in 2023, The Boone Podcast was picked up by Audacy Radio and became an Audacy Original Podcast. The Podcast has expanded to three new episodes a week, including one co-hosted by Rich Herrera. Audacy also releases a Best of the Boone Podcast each weekend, highlighting former guests’ episodes.

The Podcast has been featured on radio shows around the country, with Bret doing weekly radio hits throughout the week. The Podcast is available on the Audacy App, Apple Podcast, and Google platforms. It is also featured on YouTube and social media.
