Well I told you I was going to do a better job blogging. Today I am in Tempe for the Padres at the Halos for spring training.
Here are some random thoughts …
I talked about this on my podcast with Kevin Kennedy. I don’t know what there is so much H8er aide getting thrown at Tim Tebow. He is a guy that was at instructional league, period end of sentence. He is getting some AB’s in early spring training games. That’s it. He is not going to start for the Mets on opening day. He is just another minor league farm hand getting some AB’s this spring just like any one else with the numbers 60, 70, 80 or 90 on their backs. Let me ask you this, if you team could add a top flight athlete, who can run throw and catch, would you take a chance on a leader is willing to ride the buses in the Gulf Coast League? I would ill tell you that. If ESPN wants to show is highlight over and over, who cares. If people want to see him and a few more go to a minor league game, so what? If a few college football fans decide they will root for him and the Mets, who does that hurt, NO ONE. So all the talking heads and knights of the keyboards get over yourself already.
Being back in the Arizona for the spring has been great. The ballparks a less than a days drive from each other unlike Florida. This the weekend that spring training really gets going with fans flocking to valley of the sun for games. The best part of spring for me is seeing legions of fans from all over the country talking baseball while clad in blue, red, black and orange baseball caps. I have been working on trying all the food around the ballpark, but haven’t found anything better than the Mixon ice cream in Bradenton.
I have two podcasts out right now
