Every morning like a lemming I wake up grab my iPhone off the charger and open up twitter to see what happened while I was asleep.  Honestly I depend on twitter more than anything these days for information.  It used to be I would be glued to SportsCenter.  I remember in college clearing out my schedule to be in front of the TV for the first edition of SC.  I was the guy walking around with a copy of the Sporting Green in my back pocket.  Truth be told sometimes the only reason I roused myself out of bed to go to school was there was a newsstand with the San Francisco Chronicle at CSU Bakersfeild and you had to get there before noon or it would be sold out.

With Twitter Facebook and everything on line, those days might as well have been silent movies. This morning when I was thumbing through my timeline, I saw a post from ESPN Dan Rafeal.  He posted that he was one of SI.com’s top 100 Twitter accounts to follow.  Dan is a go to guy when it comes to boxing, no about it.  If I ever learn how to say Gennady Glolovkin (by the way I cut and paste his name because I still can’t spell it or say it properly) I will have him on the radio more often.

I looked at the link for their list and shook my head.  SI.com Top Social Media Accounts   There were some I liked and followed.  Others not so much.  Others I just rolled my eyes.

It also dawned on me, how could you just have 100 top twitter accounts?  No way to drill down to just 100, just no way.  So I am coming up with my list not in sports but all the people I follow.  Some I like, some I hate, some I know, many I don’t.  But these are they people that help me catch up on the information that I use everyday.

So if you follow me on @Twitter you will see my list, as I point out people that I think are worth reading everyday.  Some are national in scope, some are more relevant if you follow a specific team or sport.  For some on my list you will tell me that I am nuts, others you will thank me for pointing them out for you to follow.

Most of all I hope we can learn from each other that there are great people to follow to gain information and ideas on Twitter.  Ok that’s it I am going back to bed, Good Night.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
