It’s been a few weeks since I sat down in front of my iMac and got after it, but man do I have a lot to get off my chest. So I am back writing back on my personal blog. The Bucs finish the year with the number one pick in the 2015 NFL draft. What a nightmare of a season. Anything that could go backwards did go backwards. Anything that didn’t go backwards collapsed. The free agents that the Bucs brought in didn’t perform. Some of the draft picks were good, Mike Evans, the rest are probably looking of their shoulders. The thing about having the best pick in the draft means your team is the worst in the league. Just because you have the number one pick doesn’t mean you are going to rebound with that superstar you are about to make a millionaire. I was goofing all season long #wasteitforwinston. But to be honest he doesn’t make them a playoff team. The Bucs have so many holes on the roster even if they drafted Joe Montana he couldn’t make them a winner because he would be running for his life on every passing play. The Bucs need to take a long hard look at their team, giving Lovie Smith final say on the roster didn’t work out so well with the free agents, are you comfortable with him having final say on the lifeline for this franchise with the number one over all pick in 2015? Stay tuned the Bucs are on the clock and their 15 minutes of fame will seem like groundhog day with everyone talking about what they will do for month after month until the draft.
Black Monday hit the NFL like it does after the end of the regular season. No one should ever rejoice in anyone losing their jobs, it’s just bad karma coming your way. Rex Ryan had to go in NYJ but I get the feeling he was more tired of New York than they were at him. He comes from a football family and he saw what the life was like as a kid seeing his dads ups and downs. He will land somewhere and I predict he will get a Gatorade bath at Met Life Stadium with his new team when they beat the Jets.
The one firing that I think is very weak is Jim Harbaugh leaving the 49ers. I grew up watching the 49ers and up until I got to high school they were awful. Then came Bill Walsh and they were the class of the NFL. That is what a hall of fame coach and a great owner can do. Well I don’t know if Harbaugh is a hall of fame coach, but I do know the 49ers were awful before he took over 4 years ago. He turned them around no doubt about it. Was he a pain in the butt, did he grind on everyone, who cares he was a winner. A great owner can deal with him, he can put up with him if he is winning. There were so many leaks coming out of the 49ers it sounded like DC instead of SF. The 49ers decided that he wasn’t worth it, ok you got tired of his act fair enough. But you better have an ace up your sleeve if you just ran off a guy who took you to 3 straight NFC championships. If you don’t get ready to go back to enjoying long off seasons of watching everyone else playing in the playoffs.
